The Lawlyes Log

The Lawlyes Family experienced a lot of changes in the last year. Last December our first grandchild, Benjamin was born to Becky and Matt, becoming the new center of our universe. Sara graduated from law school and relocated to Long Beach, CA and is working for the U.S. Air Force. Carolyn and Larry retired and moved to Prescott, AZ. Staying in touch with each other and our friends is a challenge and a priority. This log will help us share the new unfolding chapters of our lives.

Brie's Wedding

On September 9th, Brieanne Gardner married Jason Best. Brie was a beautiful bride on a beautiful day.

Emily, Brie's sister, was the Maid of Honor.

It was a proud day for Mom and Dad.

Our Visit To Ben's House

In September, Carolyn and I returned to Springfield to attend Brieanne Gardner's wedding and to visit with Matt, Becky and Benjamin. We had a great trip.

Matt and Becky had just moved in to their new house. We helped them get settled in.

It is a very nice house with comfortable living space.

There's a cozy fireplace and plenty of room for Ben to play with his cars and Legos.

The kitchen is large, bright, and cheery.

It has an adjoining dining room where Ben likes to park his John Deere.

Ben's room has plenty of space not only for his bed, and (of course) more toys, but also for his growing collection of ...

art ...

and bear skin rugs.

This is the guest bedroom where Ben and I like to curl up in bed with a good book. A current favorite of his is Thomas The Train.

We visited Carolyn's Aunt Fran. She continues to do fairly well at Heritage Manor. Although she suffers from alzheimers, she maintains a pleasant disposition. She is happy and well-liked there. We appreciate all the staff who take such good care of her.

We had a wonderful trip. We enjoyed seeing old friends and family. But it is always so hard to leave Benjamin and his mom and dad behind!
